From local heritage to national envy

L&Q are one of the UK’s foremost Housing Associations and developer of new homes. Uffindell was commissioned to create and develop an exciting new residential brand for one it’s flagship developments in London, The Schoolyard.

Our Approach

The new brand is a reflection of the sites’ long history in the community; since the early 1900’s various schools had stood on the site of the development.

The distinctive creative expression uses imagery both emotive and exciting, combining the graphic qualities of children’s marbles and the antique photography of children at play.

Through extensive literature, film and a microsite, L&Q told the story of the sites’ history and paid homage to its educational link, as the development’s name – ‘The Schoolyard’ shows. Buyers already living in Wandsworth were targeted through an innovative, localised campaign including a mix of outdoor, print, display banners and social media.

The challenge we faced was to create a unique visual identity which would differentiate The Schoolyard from other developments in the area. The Schoolyard branding created by Uffindell does just that. It is elegant, eye-catching and relevant to the area and the creative execution of the brand across all applications has been handled beautifully.
